Just 300m from the village center and 1km from the beach – on the only unspoilt stretch of coastline on the Costa del Sol. Málaga and the airport are only half an hour’s drive away.
Cortijo Molino in Almayate consists of a main house with fireplace (3 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms) and a separate apartment (1 bedroom, 1 bathroom) on a private, fully fenced plot of 1000 m² with lawn, barbecue, seating areas, terrace, pool and panoramic sea views.
It feels like being in the country – and yet right in the middle of it all.
The Space
The tasteful and stylish furnishings alone set our accommodation apart from other run-of-the-mill vacation properties with pragmatic furnishings, which is no bad thing. Here you will find high-quality furniture, coordinated textiles, exquisite tableware, special decorative objects and unusual art on the walls. Arrive – and immediately feel at home.
The main house has three bedrooms and two bathrooms, one of them en-suite, the other with double washbasin, shower and bathtub, a large, open kitchen with dining table for ten people, a spacious living area with comfortable sofa and Smart TV (Astra) and another lounge area with fireplace in front of the large glass front.
From here, two doors lead onto the terrace and into the garden. The seating area by the house next to the brick barbecue can be covered by an awning for more shade.
The independent apartment opposite the main house has a separate entrance & terrace area with two sitting areas, an open plan living area with sofa and Smart TV (Astra), dining table and kitchen, next to which is the separate bedroom and en-suite bathroom.
The 1000m² plot is completely fenced, private and secluded in most places. The lawns are bordered by colorful flower beds and flowering shrubs. Depending on the season, there are grapes, nectarines and plums to pick.
Apart from two steps in and around the main house, the accommodation is at ground level.
Access for guests
You rent the entire accommodation, so you have access to all areas and can let off steam freely.
Further important notes
Simply for more independence and to be able to explore the region better, we recommend renting a car. But we have also had countless happy guests who have managed perfectly well without one. It’s only a five-minute walk to the village, where there are plenty of bars, restaurants and shops. It’s a quarter of an hour’s walk to the beach.
You can park your car in the driveway or on the property behind the gate. There are also plenty of parking spaces along the road.
Children are of course welcome, but please note that our house is not childproof. The pool is not fenced and has a deep end.
Pool dimensions: 6.70m x 3.50m, depth 1.60m.
Despite the current alarming water situation in Spain, you will not experience any inconvenience in this respect. We have our own well and are therefore not dependent on the suppliers who regulate consumption in other places. Of course, we ask you to use our water responsibly.
Pets
Pets are very welcome. Please take a close look at the photos to assess whether your dogs could jump over the glass front around the pool or the walls around the garden.
Our neighbors have cats that like to chill out in the garden, as long as they are not scared off by dogs.
During the high season we only rent the eintire Cortijo including the apartment to enjoy with family and friends. In the low season you can go for either or – and possibly share outside spaces with other guests. Extra mattraces and/or baby travel beds can be suplied for every room or rental unit. Almayate, Málaga, Andalusia, Spain
Rural idyll, wonderful sea views, unspoiled landscapes and the mountains – and yet just a stone’s throw from the village of Almayate or its beach.
Almayate may not be the most picturesque place, but it’s cute and has everything you need: shops, bars, restaurants, even a pub and a nightclub, playgrounds, bus stops. And it’s just 1 km from the only unspoiled stretch of coastline on the Costa del Sol with numerous beach bars serving fresh fish and grilled meats, many of which are open all year round.
Just 600 m from the closest beach point is the popular nudist beach of Almanat – you have the choice of chiringuitos (beach bars) that like to see people clothed… or not.
The next largest town, Torre del Mar, is four kilometers away. Here, small and large boutiques, stores, bars, restaurants of all classes, ice cream parlors, cafés, discos, nightclubs and pubs are lined up one after the other. The beach promenade is miles long and really beautiful – for walking, strolling, rollerblading, cycling or even for the obligatory stop-off for tapas and a glass of wine.
Further west, Málaga, Torremolinos, Fuengirola, Marbella, Ronda, Estepona, Gibraltar or Tarifa, to the east Vélez-Málaga, Nerja, the white villages or Granada – how about a little day trip? And you can even be in Cordoba or Seville in under two hours.

On the road around the accommodation
You can park up to three cars on the property and in the driveway, otherwise there are other free parking spaces on the street next to the house.
If you decide against a car or simply don’t want to drive, buses run twice an hour in both directions (east: Torre del Mar, Nerja; west: Rincón de la Victoria, Málaga) on the coastal road, a ten-minute walk away. But please note that buses do not run around the clock if you arrive/depart very early/late. In this case we can recommend a shuttle to/from the airport.
What the area has to offer depends on the time of year:
Depending on whether you like it loud and flashy or quiet and relaxed, you will always find just the right thing for every taste in and around Almayate – depending on the time of year.
The beach is only really busy in the peak season – the Spanish school vacations from the end of June to the beginning of September (although it’s far from being a ballerina).
The seasons
From mid-September to mid-June, the beach is almost always deserted, especially during the week, apart from the odd angler. It is only when it gets warmer that Spaniards are drawn to the sea, either after work or at weekends. Nevertheless, some chiringuitos are open and you can enjoy your grilled fish with a view of the sea in peace. The village is correspondingly untouristy during this time, apart from clever sun worshippers who take a short break over regional holidays.
The most important village event takes place on the first Sunday in May – the Romería, a spectacle well worth seeing. On this day, the entire population of Almayate dresses up in their traditional flamenco dresses and suits, the specially bred bulls of their own species are beautifully decorated and harnessed in front of colorfully decorated wooden carts, and then the mile-long procession accompanied by countless horses moves from here via Torre del Mar to a secluded park for a picnic. A must-see for all Spain fans.
Easter is a big deal in Spain – especially in Veléz-Málaga (approx. 9 km away), the colorful street parades and processions last an entire week.
In the summer months, one fiesta follows another. All the surrounding villages have their own feria (fair) with dancing, stalls and rides. The three-day music festival “Weekend Beach” and the airshow in Torre del Mar have also made a name for themselves in recent years and attract crowds from near and far.
Winter time
During the winter months and even around Christmas it is very relaxed even in Torre del Mar, so a little trip to Málaga for some Xmas shopping and to see the really impressive light shows would be a good excuse to escape the cold and soak up some sun – with a bit of luck and without clouds and wind you will still be warmly dressed in a T-shirt, the very daring even jump into the sea.
